(More customer reviews)I like watches. When I got my TAG, I told myself, "this is it, I never need to buy another watch." Well, I have added 3 more watches since then. I have 1 each of TAG, Swiss Army, Gucci, Tudor, Nike, and Swatch, but I have 4 Timex's.
This Timex, #T49698 has a simple black face with easy to read numbers and very cool orange hands and numbers. I always require a date function as well as 3 hands on my analog watches, which this Timex has. REI was the only store to carry this watch last year so I asked for it as a Christmas present.
The time has remained accurate from the time I set it, the strap is reasonably comfortable, the date is easy to set and the Indiglo allows for easy night time viewing. I only wish the crown didn't jab into my wrist as much, but a lot of my watches do the same thing. The hour and minute hands are devoid of luminescent paint so the Indiglo is a must for low-light viewing. On a trivial note, the second hand ticking, sounds more like a "ting" rather than a "tick." It is a very attractive watch with a simple design and great orange accents.
The #T49698 Timex is a great deal on Amazon. REI sold it for much more and charged taxes and shipping. Something about Timex watches really allow me to enjoy them. I think it is mainly due to the terrific value. How much better can my TAG tell time than this Timex? How good my TAG looks compared to this Timex is completely subjective. In fact, none of my Timex watches have ever needed service, but my TAG has and it also costs me $50 to replace the battery, which I've had to do every 12-14 months. Hmm, that's like getting a new Timex every 12-14 months. I guess I love my Timex. I really liked the Ironman series watches for a long time, but my last 2 Timex's have been the Expedition series.
