(More customer reviews)I got this for my wife, but she found the color a bit bright--compared to what you see on the online photo. We may give it away as a gift. The good: it needs no batteries, the dial seems clear, you can set a second time-zone for the bottom LCD display. The bad: resin band looks like it might need to be replaced in a year or so of average use, no moving second hand on the display.
Setting the digital time will cause the analog display to reset to the new digital time. You can set a second time zone on the LCD display if you wish.

Casio Men's GW5600J-1 G-Shock Atomic Tough Solar Watch Review

(More customer reviews)Way back in 1982, I bought one of the first Casio 5000 models. It was incredibly accurate, easy to use, had a countdown timer (which I used a lot) and seemed set to last for ever. In 1988 I crashed my motorcycle, and smashed the crystal on my watch. I threw it in a drawer, bought a new cheap casio (with less functions) and carried on. 3 years later I found the smashed one in the back of the drawer. It was still working and only wrong by 15 seconds! I've had various other watches since then, (really missed the countdown timer), but the Casio G-shocks were all way too thick to suit me. I really fancied the new Solar Powered and Atomic Clock synced Casios, but they were still too thick (and didn't have a countdown timer).
Then I found the GW5600J. Based on the old 5000 series, Atomic, Solar Powered, 5 alarms and a countdown timer, full backlight. And the same style and thickness as my old 5000! Not thin, but not ridiculous either.
I've had it a week now, I love it, I expect it to last the rest of my life (this sucker is tough), and neat, clear, easy to use and accurate!
If you like digital watches (as opposed to analog), this is the one.

I am over 40 and wear reading glasses, in a dark room or car I like to have a light on my watch to SEE IT! Anyway the light only lights up the little tiny half moon at the bottom instead of the whole watch.

G-Shock Men's Classic Collection watch #DW-5600MS-1 Review

(More customer reviews)About 5 months ago I bought my first G-Shock: the GW5600J-1. That watch is a G-Shock that looks very similar this one, but it has atomic & solar capabilities. This watch, although it cost me just slightly more, is neither atomic or solar. I was skeptical if I would really like this watch. My primary attraction was the design: all black. A few things I noticed compared to theGW5600J-1: the band on this watch is softer with a slightly different feel, you notice it right when you put it on your wrist. Also, the metal on the band is black, vs. silver on the GW5600J-1. The buttons on this watch are easier to use than the GW5600J-1. Actually, the GW5600J-1 kind of annoys me how difficult the buttons are to push. This watch is easier to use in that respect. This watch could be difficult to read in very low light conditions, but because the buttons are so easy to use, turning on the light with the press of a button is painless. Overall, both the GW5600J-1 and this watch are great watches. The GW5600J-1 is probably a better value, but doesn't have the unique style this watch has. I'm happy to own both, and would recommend this watch. I gave 4 stars instead of 5, only because the lack of solar/atomic at the same price point just doesn't make 100% sense to me. Also: the photo of this product on Amazon might look a little grey, but this watch is definitely black, not grey.
