(More customer reviews)This is a great watch. About accuracy: After performing the compass calibration, I can say it is fairly accurate. I always get acceptable direction of where the north should be. Temperature is also accurate but it is true, you need to take off the watch for about 10 to 15 min to get a good reading. If not, then you get a constant 31 degrees.
About size, I think it does has a very good size, big numbers, clear display and very nice to press buttons.
Band is resin.
I gave 4 stars because I think alarm is dim but that is just a personal point of view.
Very nice to use. In all, I am happy with my purchase.
Update dic 21 08: Yes, time is display normally in the central area of the screen, where the 330° is shown on picture. This picture here in amazon shows the compass mode. I have added some images for size and display info.

Timex Unisex T49754 Expedition Digital Watch Review

(More customer reviews)I am a daily Timex user and have used the same T53161 for over 7 years. I ordered this one as a replacement because my old watch's Indiglo and audible features wore out after about 5 years. Otherwise It still works after 7 years, 5 new watchbands, 4 DIY battery changes, Many 120+ ft SCUBA dives, daily exposure to sand, dust, machine oil, mechanical vibrations from gunfire, grinders, engines etc. I am retiring this weary soldier to reserve status as soon as I get a replacement. I strongly recommend the T53161 if you are looking at a watch in this category.
I decided to try this T49754 as a replacement. While I am sure the electronic components are of equal quality, this model has a poorly designed crystal and is prone to cracking near the top corners of the Indiglo button. Notice that, unlike the T53161, this watch has the Indiglo button set into the crystal. This means the crystal has sharp interior corners (think stress concentrations, for all you engineers out there). My crystal cracked at the upper left corner of this button within 3 days of normal use. This crack grew out of the corner and is now all the way to the "mode" button. I know now to never buy a watch with buttons sticking out into the crystal
Also, the paint or coating on the housing surrounding the crystal seems like it is latex or rubber based, and it is already peeling off and revealing an unfinished surface beneath. The surface is still a steel gray color, but the peeling looks pretty bad.
Bottom line: Timex - Please don't use sharp interior corners in any of your crystals, they will always crack.
