Also it was not the FLIX model pictured. It still provided all the features I wanted so I'm going to just keep it, but buyer beware.

(More customer reviews)this is the second watch ive purchased from this seller. both have been bad. i knew something was wrong immediately after receiving package, as I could hear loose parts rattling around the box. upon opening, I discovered the clasp was in pieces and one pin was damaged. Took to local jeweler and he repaired the watch for 15 dollars. I tried unsuccesfully to repair it myself first. sure I could have returned both of these watches, but I like the style and didnt need extra hassel of repackaging and waiting for return/credit on a 39 dollar watch. when I buy something online, I at least expect it to initally work before breaking. previous watch has a defect in the hour chime, it just stays one long annoying beep until you re-do settings. also, battery went dead on first watch not even 3 weeks after receiving, which meant additional expense as well. this seller has great "as is" watches, just be prepared to spend additional money on them after receiving. customer service was however friendly, which gets this mess one star

(More customer reviews)I purchased this watch on sale. I really like the look, and it's quite comfortable.
However, like two of the other reviews, I had the same problems. The white, rubber of the band quickly became discolored. The more I wore it, the more the discoloration. Then the clasp broke. I tried to find a replacement clasp because I really do still find the watch comfortable. It'd be easy to replace -- if there was such a thing. There is no replacement available. I even called Timex to ask about a replacement. The only way to replace the clasp is by sending the whole watch into Timex. They'll either replace the clasp or the whole watch, but I have to pay the bill to have them replace the 50 cent part, or just end up putting it in a drawer.

(More customer reviews)It took a while for Timex to come out with a new Ironman watch that would turn me back from my Casio G-Shock. This one caught my eye.
It has a bright white LCD display which far out-shines the Casio, 3 alarm types (daily, weekdays and weekends - an intelligent arrangement), 3 time zones, stopwatch, a backward timer and an appointment reminder (with preset appointment names to choose from such as, "birthday").
This watch offers plenty of surprises - aside from offering you the features listed above, it actually offers you the ability to turn them off. What this means is you can remove the appointment reminder or the 3rd alarm type (for example) from the mode cycle.
The Indiglo lighting was another surprise. At first, in regular indoor lighting, I thought Indiglo wasn't working. It wasn't until I brought the watch into a darker room that I could see why. All the digital watches I've seen light the face with a blueish hue - but this new breed of Ironman lights up just the digits themselves in a negative orange-on-black appearance. The effect isn't nearly as bright as the "flashlight" typical LCD's project but it does allow you to read the time... and is probably one of the ways Timex managed to get a 6 year battery life out of these models.
All in all, a nice find - and finding it at Amazon for 27% off was even nicer!

(More customer reviews)Over the years I've owned several generations of Timex Ironman watches, along with other competitor's sports watches. This is the best so far and it is a pleasure to see that Timex is constantly refining and improving the Ironman brand in small and very useful ways. Small but extremely useful improvements over the last Ironman watch I owned include:
- The Flix feature. This is very useful at night when you only have one hand available. Just activate the night mode, flick your wrist and the watch face illuminates for a few seconds.
- When you press the Indiglo button, the face stays lit for a few seconds instead of only as long as you hold the button. Subtle change but big help.
- When you press the Set button in any mode, helpful flashing icons appear which let you know which of the five buttons does what function (e.g. "+" to advance a number.) This pretty much eliminates ever needing to refer to the instruction manual.
- The wristband curves where it interfaces with the watch for a better fit around your wrist.
- The plastic loop which secures the un-notched portion of the band to the other half of the band has a notch which fits into a special hole in the free end of the band. This keeps the loose portion of the band secure around your wrist so that it never snags.
The continual evolution in features, rock solid reliability, and excellent value for price will keep me a loyal Ironman user in the future.
