I thought I was buying a new watch but it was either a return or used because it didn't come with an owners manual and it appeared that the battary was dead. It turns out that it had loose connections. It now works after taking to two seperate places to have it looked at. I should have just returned it but I misplaced the return slip so I ended up having it fixed instead.

This watch is unbelievably cute, and I adore Timex watches in this style - you can beat them to death and they keep going, great functionality, etc. However, within only a couple of weeks the pink rubber on this watch had noticeably started to turn yellow. I may call Timex about it, but I'm not sure I can find the paperwork...maybe I should buy another one to see how well it wears.
I'm going to keep this one and wear it out in the yard and whatever, but the yellowed tone will probably stop me from wearing it on any fashion-related occasions. ;)

(More customer reviews)I've only had this watch for 2 weeks now so I can't yet speak for its durability. However, functionally it's great. It is even smart enough that when I'm done with the timer, the mode toggle switch goes back to clock mode instead of cycling through all the other modes first. I also wanted the following features:
* Day, Date, AND Month without toggling buttons
* Indiglo
* No beeping when I toggled between modes
The only reason I give it 4 stars is that it's a little non-intuitive how to set the timer and alarm. But I'll get used to it.
Update: I've had this for awhile now and I see one thing I don't like about it. The actual watch works fine, but the strap seems to be deteriorating. It attracts dirt/dust and is now a totally different color than the face. Also, the hook that supposed to keep the end of the strap in place is not very useful. I have to re-insert the strap every couple of hours or so... very annoying. I hope I can replace the strap when the time comes.

(More customer reviews)I've used a Timex Expedition (B0000D1662) for years, but this is less expensive, more stylish, and more functional - it's as though the prices are backwards.
The IronMan30 has a night-light system that far surpasses the Expedition, with brightly glowing number elements rather than a weakly back-lit face, a more elabore lap/split chronograph, a simpler and more accurate timer, separate day/weekend/weekday alarms, and a recessed face.
That last feature is very important: I've had to replace my Expedition every few years because the face always got scratched, soon after purchase. But the IronMan30 has a recessed face that hasn't been scratched yet!
The IronMan50, by contrast, has what the 30 has plus 20 more laps. If you have more than 30 (even more than 10?) laps to time, you should probably invest in a more expensive watch - one with a heart monitor if not also a compass and/or altimeter, depending where you're doing those laps.

Timex Midsize T5K221 Ironman 50-Lap Resin Strap Digital Watch Review

(More customer reviews)I don't know what happened to Timex, the quality of their products has decreased over the past decade or so. In recent past, I've bought 3 different Timex sports watches for my wife, this being the latest. The color on the first on chipped off, looked terrible. The second watch's buttons actually cracked and then fell off, then the rubber around the watch face seperated. Finally, the watch band on this one seperated (it was glued on apparently) and is unwearable. I looked into sending them back, but Timex has a ridiculous return/repair policy, you need to pay shipping and handling of around 7 dollars and then there may also be a repair charge if they decide it was not a manufacturing defect. I sent an email inquiring as to the requirements for determining what type of damage was classified as manufacturing defect (I didn't want to pay extra to get another shotty watch), and it was never responded to. There's not a lot of options in women's sport watches, so I kept trying Timex thinking I got a lemon the previous try, but now I've decided that the quality just sucks. Stay away from anything Timex.

I like the easy functioning of the stop watch as well as the indigo feature since I use mine for an alarm clock while traveling. The only drawback I've experienced is that the colors don't hold up well in a chlorine pool; while it is waterproof, the colors turn a little green after being exposed to chlorine. I will not attempt to swim with it again.

Timex IRONMAN 30-Lap Mid-Size Watch Review

(More customer reviews)It took a while for Timex to come out with a new Ironman watch that would turn me back from my Casio G-Shock. This one caught my eye.
It has a bright white LCD display which far out-shines the Casio, 3 alarm types (daily, weekdays and weekends - an intelligent arrangement), 3 time zones, stopwatch, a backward timer and an appointment reminder (with preset appointment names to choose from such as, "birthday").
This watch offers plenty of surprises - aside from offering you the features listed above, it actually offers you the ability to turn them off. What this means is you can remove the appointment reminder or the 3rd alarm type (for example) from the mode cycle.
The Indiglo lighting was another surprise. At first, in regular indoor lighting, I thought Indiglo wasn't working. It wasn't until I brought the watch into a darker room that I could see why. All the digital watches I've seen light the face with a blueish hue - but this new breed of Ironman lights up just the digits themselves in a negative orange-on-black appearance. The effect isn't nearly as bright as the "flashlight" typical LCD's project but it does allow you to read the time... and is probably one of the ways Timex managed to get a 6 year battery life out of these models.
All in all, a nice find - and finding it at Amazon for 27% off was even nicer!

(More customer reviews)I was looking for a sporty, young-looking, low-profile, waterproof, unique digital watch. I only need it for day-to-day timekeeping and recreational swimming, so lap functions are not important to me. This watch was perfect for my needs--it's beautiful, fits my college style, keeps great time, and is waterproof (the instruction sheet is very specific about not pushing any buttons while the watch is in water). I've never had problems with condensation, water seepage, or anything malfunctioning, despite having worn it for recreational swimming in a chlorinated pool.
The watch, true to its name, is sleek. It's not bulky like other sports watches, and doesn't scream "Hardcore Runner!" which is great because I'm not one. On the other hand, it's also not tiny-dainty, which is good news for my bigger stature. The Indiglo-lit numbers are very bright and perfectly readable in low light. The default watch display shows time (with seconds), date (month and day), and day of the week. These are all easy to read at a glance.
The watch is truly dark purple and white, like in the picture, and feminine without being girly. I actually wear my watch with the face on the inside of my wrist because that's how my best friend in high school wore it--the band and clasp look good, and so far I haven't scratched the face.
Overall, I am very pleased with this watch!

It's very easy to program - very idiot proof. I also love the fact that it helps me with my running intervals so that I can run injury free using the Jeff Galloway method. That indiglo feature is very convenient to check the time when it's dark and the cell phone is out of reach. Oh, did I mention that it's so comfortable I wear it 24/7?

For example, after thirty minutes, the watch no longer records seconds, only minutes. This unfortunately makes this watch futile unless you are a beginner and are not too concerned with precision. I wouldn't recommend this watch for a serious or experienced runner. ( I am a sprinter that has taken up cross country thus i found this watch served its purpose considering I was running cross country to improve in sprinting events). Another major drawback is the lack of directions with the watch. I mean I understand the watch is only twenty bucks but can I get some fricking directions????!!!
