(More customer reviews)This is a good watch. It does all it should. But the reason I had to replace the one I had before is that the band broke and there's no replacing it. This one has the same type of band so I suspect it will eventually suffer from the same fate.

Yes the band broke just as I suspected it would a couple months ago. So this one lasted an even shorter time than the first..... So now I have 2 Timex sport watches with not band. Both still work well but are just used as dust catchers...

Casio Men's W800H-1AV Classic Digital Sport Watch Review

(More customer reviews)Just got this watch after ordering a few days ago. Strange thing is, you won't find any product information about it on Casio's US website. Let's get to it:
Pros:
1) Not as bulky as a G-Shock:
If you're like me and you want a fully-functioning digital watch without the enormous bulk of a G-Shock, then this watch may fit your bill (even the midsize G-Shocks are tad too large in my book). However, this watch isn't tiny either: The across-width, measured between the buttons on either side but not including buttons, is just a 1/16 inch shy 1.5 inches. The top-to-bottom height, measured between the outside of the top bezel above the "Casio" insignia to the outside of the lower bezel below the "WATER 100M RESIST" is 1 3/16 inches, and just about 1/2 inch thick.
2) Plenty of features:
Dual time, stop-watch with split times, displays the time during the stop-watch function, date setup that knows the day of the week (accounts for leap year too), large display, snooze alarm (!), etc.
3) Great price:
For the value alone I give it the 5-star rating
Cons:
1) Bezel around the crystal is flush with the surface of the crystal - this could lead to scratches if you're not careful
2) Light is not the back lighting "Illuminator" of some other Casio watches - it's green glow that lights from the bottom-left of the display - kinda meh but it does stay on for a few seconds after depressing.
3) Could use a count-down timer.
4) The watch does not allow you keep the light on by keeping the light button depressed. Still turns off after about 1.5 seconds. Can be quite irritating when you're trying to read the watch after waking up all blurry-eyed but I'm sure it's part of keeping that 10 year battery claim.
In closing, this watch isn't gonna win any beauty contests, but it's functions, simplicity, and discrete look are what sold me.
[UPDATE 2010.09.30 - added con number 4 but not removing a star. I'm still wearing the watch and I am still enjoying it]

Timex Women's Ironman 30-Lap Watch Review

(More customer reviews)Ok, so it's a Timex. They're good watches. Nothing bad to say there. But...the white watch band stains within days (the watch is covered under warranty, the band is not). And it's impossible to bleach it or clean it white again. Ever.
This is a common problem with this watch. If you search the internet you'll see people complaining. On the Timex website, there are complaints and each one says "call us, we have a solution for your problem". I called Timex, their solution: buy another watchband. I asked if they made the white band in another material, the answer is no. So, their solution is for me to spend more money to buy another item that is as flawed as the item I already bought. Yeah, no thanks.
Therefore, this watch gets one star. Unless you like wearing a disclored filthy looking watchband attached to a stark white watch face, be my guest. Heck, you can have mine. But, if you want a watch that works and isn't an embarrassment to wear, maybe get this watch in a different color.

(More customer reviews)I love this watch. It looks and feels good on my arm. The band is flexible, comfortable and doesn't stick. The display is easy to read and the features are very intuitive. The watch only has 10 preset timers though, not 12 as listed in the description.
I only gave it two stars because I'm on my third one. The first two I bought from Amazon were defective. The indiglo nightlight stopped working within 48 hours on both watches. I returned both to Amazon. The third one I bought at Target. Same watch, just paid a couple of dollars more, because I didn't want to take the chance of getting another defective one from Amazon.

(More customer reviews)I have bought the Timex Marathon several times over the last 7 years and not because the watch itself has broken down. I don't think I have ever needed to change the battery! I wear it to work daily and have needed to replace it because of general wear and tear. The settings are simple to adjust. The pulse calculator is a neat feature if you work out. Both the timer and alarm volumes are loud enough so you can use this watch as your sole alarm clock. A great watch at a very reasonable price.

(More customer reviews)I bought the pink version of this watch. Within a month, the pretty pink band was an ugly, dingy gray, and you cannot replace the band. After a couple of years of daily wear, the band started coming loose around 3 out of the 4 buttons, to the point where the band can come off completely in those areas, so now it sits loosely around the buttons. Also attracts dirt in the space where there isn't a band. Watch itself works great however.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this watch thinking it measured pulse rate, in other words that it is it is a HRM (heart rate monitor). It certainly is not. In order to get heart rate you must count pulses yourself and divide with the built-in calculator. In other words it is a calculator watch not a HRM. I'm sure the other functions are fine and it is a good looking watch, but totally useless as a HRM during exercise.
As a result, I returned this watch and ordered another version from Timex that is a true HRM. It works as advertised!

(More customer reviews)This is the 4th or 5th watch in this series that I've owned. This one allows for multiple interval timing. Fantastic!
I 'did' the Chicago marathon this past fall. The group that I train with runs for 3 minutes and then walks for 2 minutes on all of our training runs. This watch alternates these intervals, sounding an alarm after each! The buttons are intuitive, making it easy to use even with quite a few features.
The silver and black color combo has held up much better another black and metallic green Timex watch from another line did (The metallic green on the watch face scraped off). The band has openings which is nice (your wrist doesn't get sweaty). Good value.
