(More customer reviews)Just got this watch after ordering a few days ago. Strange thing is, you won't find any product information about it on Casio's US website. Let's get to it:
Pros:
1) Not as bulky as a G-Shock:
If you're like me and you want a fully-functioning digital watch without the enormous bulk of a G-Shock, then this watch may fit your bill (even the midsize G-Shocks are tad too large in my book). However, this watch isn't tiny either: The across-width, measured between the buttons on either side but not including buttons, is just a 1/16 inch shy 1.5 inches. The top-to-bottom height, measured between the outside of the top bezel above the "Casio" insignia to the outside of the lower bezel below the "WATER 100M RESIST" is 1 3/16 inches, and just about 1/2 inch thick.
2) Plenty of features:
Dual time, stop-watch with split times, displays the time during the stop-watch function, date setup that knows the day of the week (accounts for leap year too), large display, snooze alarm (!), etc.
3) Great price:
For the value alone I give it the 5-star rating
Cons:
1) Bezel around the crystal is flush with the surface of the crystal - this could lead to scratches if you're not careful
2) Light is not the back lighting "Illuminator" of some other Casio watches - it's green glow that lights from the bottom-left of the display - kinda meh but it does stay on for a few seconds after depressing.
3) Could use a count-down timer.
4) The watch does not allow you keep the light on by keeping the light button depressed. Still turns off after about 1.5 seconds. Can be quite irritating when you're trying to read the watch after waking up all blurry-eyed but I'm sure it's part of keeping that 10 year battery claim.
In closing, this watch isn't gonna win any beauty contests, but it's functions, simplicity, and discrete look are what sold me.
[UPDATE 2010.09.30 - added con number 4 but not removing a star. I'm still wearing the watch and I am still enjoying it]

(More customer reviews)got this watch on sale at sears for around 25$ i needed an alarm but hate the all digital watches and couldn't afford an all analog watch with alarm and chrono so i got this. casio makes way more analog/digital combo watches that any other maker. this watch is fantastic, large buttons, simple digital functions, you got the time on top then month,day and day of week on bottom. then alarm, stopwatch and a second timezone if you need that on bottom instead of the date..illuminator blue light lights up analog and digital display.. if i could change one thing i would give this watch a glass crystal because after a while you get scratches because its a plastic face. But all you need is to buff it with 'white paste style toothpaste' and it looks brand new again. Some people might have trouble reading the digital display, its not very big.

Time set from front panel only - no ability to set from WWV.
I have not had to reset it in the months I have owned it. It is yet to be a full second off - so far the watch has not slipped as far in time as my watch setting error.
12 hour or 24 hour time.
Default state - displays year, month, day, day of week, and status of rechargable battery.
World time state - displays the time in one of 31 time zones, including GMT. Each zone can be controlled for DST.
Data - holds a short alphameric pointer and a bt of data that uses the year, month, day, hour, minute, second - I use it for Ham call signs. Holds 30 items. Suitable for phone numbers, for example.
Alarm screen - the watch will remember five different alarms by day, month year, hour, minute, sec. It will alarm the same time and day every year or the same day every month or the same time every day - or just once, at a particular year, month, day, hour, minute, and second. There is a sixth screen where you set the hourly chime on or off.
Stopwatch screen: The stopwatch does splits and final time. It also does a "countdown" where it beeps three times and then a "go beep", optionally, if you are timing someone in something and they want an honest and accurate start.
Timer screen: The timer will do countdowns - either a single time or it will automatically repeat.
The face is a solar cell. It automatically recharges the battery. The watch can be put to sleep by holding adjust and mode - you won't get alarms or beeps in that mode, nor will you get a display - but the watch will keep time for much longer.
The backlight really works - in the old days, backlights on LCDs were miserable and then some of the watchmakers used tritium radioactive elements that were nicely lit but which you can't get anymore. Then there were some attempts at better pushbutton backlights - this is about the best I've seen. It is clear and you really can see the watch using it.
It works in one of two modes. One mode is that the watch backlight only engages when you push the button on the face - that's right, the easy to reach silver button on the front center of the watch lights it up.
The other way is to use the automatic feature - If you wear your watch on the outside of your left wrist, then IF it is not too bright and as you look at the watch the way most people do, by tilting your wrist toward you, the watch automatically lights up. This is essentially automatic - you look at your watch and it is lit up. This function is selectable - You might want to make it manual to save battery. I find it is too convenient to do without.
Despite the wonderful pressure ratings, unless you are very small, this watch is not suitable as a dive watch. The band won;t fit over a wet or dry suit. If you are doing warm water wimp diving in a skin or a shortie, you can use it - if you need to put it over a wet suit or a dry suit, the band is simply way too short. I know of no source for a band extender. Neither do the people at Casio. For short duration use, a wire tie or two will probably work.
What 20 bar rating means to me is that I could take it diving. Or, I could get it wet and not worry, even if the water is coming out of a hose with some force. The band means that I can't wear it where I need it - on the outside of my wetsuit or drysuit.

Casio Men's W211-1AV Digital Sport Watch Review

(More customer reviews)I was looking for a watch that displayed not only the time (obviously) but also the day and date all at the same time without having to push buttons. I fill out a lot paperwork in my job and constantly just look at my watch and write what I see, day, date and time of occurrence, etc. I also needed the watch to look professional and not gaudy in size or color.
This watch was perfect and cheap at under $20 shipped. It was even thinner than I expected which added to it's looks in my opinion. The only criticism I have is that the watch is lit by 1 orange LED off to the left side. It works perfectly fine, but I was expecting an indiglo-style illumination. The LED on this watch is reminiscent of old digital watches with the the little incandescent bulb off to one side or the other. It does fully light up the display as if it were indiglo-style but you can definitely see where the light source is as opposed to true back-lit displays where it's one uniform illumination.
Overall, I am 100% satisfied with this watch. My last watch was a Timex which lasted me 8 years on 2 batteries. The water seal it on finally gave out and it died. I looked for the same watch but it is discontinued and all other Timex's I found were either too much money for what I need or very large and/or gaudy in color. Same was the case with Armitron.
I saw this Casio watch and decided to give it a chance. The alleged 10 year battery life and basic yet not plain good looks convinced me to give it a try. So far, no regrets. Even if the battery doesn't last the purported 10 years, the watch does look and feel like it will. I uploaded a picture of the watch in the dark so you can see what I'm referring too in regards to the lighting for this watch.

I paid $40 for this cool looking watch, and it does all it supposed to, and it looks great. The ipod function is fantastic and works better than I had hoped. Changing songs and volume while at the gym was always a pain; it's so easy from the watch!
I was also happy that there's nothing to do to set it up. Just plug the wireless gizmo into your ipod and it's set, nothing else to do.
I like the light too. It lights the numbers instead of the background.
The band has a cool locking thing too. I can't explain it (or don't feel like it), but I like it.

(More customer reviews)I bought this watch a week ago at an unbeatable price of $47 incl. tax and shipping (almost 50% off the RRP). What I wanted was a watch that was useful for athletic training (I'm an avid runner and swimmer). What I received was a superb well-rounded G-Shock that surpassed my expectations regarding the purpose of the watch, one that has several unique features that other G-Shocks presently do not feature:
*1/1000 stopwatch with split and 999 lap time functions--perfect for athletic training, getting splits etc. while running or swimming.
*Auto-start feature--a 5 second countdown prior to starting the stopwatch, with cool animated graphics.
*2 100-hour countdown timers, adjustable to the second--ideal for interval training on long runs.
*Customizable alarms for weekend and weekday--great for people like me who have to wake up at 7am on weekdays and noon on weekends without having to constantly switch on/off different alarms.
*Customizable hourly signal--set it so that it only beeps on the hour during any specified period (ie. 7am-11pm), so that it doesn't beep while sleeping.
*Flash alert--red and green LEDs go off in sync with the alarms and stopwatch auto-start systems. With the stopwatch auto-start, the LEDs are employed to create a cool motor races effect by having red lights going off in sync with the countdown and green lights going off at the start itself.
Other features of the watch:
*World time in 48 cities--48 cities is new for me, previous G-Shocks only had 27 or so, perfect for frequent travelers like me.
*EL backlight (blue-green) with auto-EL function.
*A very comfortable strap with good fit, and a thin case (by G-Shock standards) makes for one of the most easy-to-wear G-Shocks ever.
*Buttons are extremely easy to push. Some users have complained that the "G" button on the front of the watch, which activates the EL backlight, is hard to press; that wasn't the case for me.
Some cons:
*EL backlight duration (1 second)--too short for me, especially on a display with so much information, presumably to increase battery life. 2 or 3 seconds would be ideal.
*Non-solar powered--given all the power-hungry features of this watch, solar power would be ideal, so as not to worry about running down the batteries with all the alarms, lights and all.
However, these are minor issues. I'm sure this watch would suit anyone out there--by far one of the most feature-packed yet comfortable-to-wear and stylish G-Shocks out there, perfect for any occasion.

Timex Men's T5H581 Ironman Traditional 30-Lap Watch Review

(More customer reviews)This is the best watch for the money. This is my 3rd Ironman 30 Lap. They are virtually indestructible. I only upgrade when the battery gets low after about 4 years. I've tried other watches for a few months between 30 laps, but can't find anything I like as much and keep going back. Thinner than most. Forward and backward setting of times and alarms- you don't have to go 'around the horn' to set your alarm for 10 minutes earlier. Great features, accurate, and tough.

(More customer reviews)This watch is an excellent value for what you get. It has a band that fits my large wrist with one notch to spare. The time number is 3/8th of an inch tall. Easy to see for older folks. The day of the month is about 1/4 of an inch tall. The month is not shown however. No problem as most of us know what month we are in. The day of the week is a little poor in reading but you will get used to it. Water resistant but do not hit a button hard under water as it will leak. It has an extra time slot for showing a different time zone once you set it. Nothing fancy or complicated here. I won't have to constantly school myself and check a manual to operate it as the controls are laid out simply. I don't need to jam my finger in hard to press the button in. THIS WATCH WAS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. Simple, cheap and no big deal if it gets broken. I will buy another when the time comes. I hope Timex keeps selling it.
