(More customer reviews)This model has been out for a long time. I like the look of the black more then the white or gold. The reason the watch loses one star is because the band. It looks great, but the rubber will wear out and break in about a year. The replacement band that Casio offers looks close the orginal, but not exactly the same. I lost one of these, and another was stolen. So the fact that I am on my third is a statement to how much I love this watch. I have been wearing it since about 1993.

THE BIG PRICE DIFFERENCE WITH OTHER PERPETUAL CALENDAR WATCHES MADE ME HESITATE IF IT WOULD BE WORKING REALLY AS A PERPETUAL CALENDAR WATCH ALL YEAR LONG YEAR AFTER YEAR BUT FINALLY A DECIDED TO TAKE THE RISK AND I BOUGHT IT IN FEFRUARY 2009.
I HAVE TO SAY THAT IT HAS FULLY ACCOMPLISHED MY EXPECTATIONS, ON THE 28TH OF FEBRUARY TRESPASSED TO FIRST OF MARCH SMOOTHLY AT MID NIGHT, THAT FINALLY CONVINCED ME THAT I WOULD HAVE THE RIGHT DATE ON MY WRIST FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.
THE ONLY CONSIDERATION I WOULD POINT OUT IS THAT BEING OVER 45 MY SIGHT IS NOT SO SHARP AS IT USED TO BE AND THE DATE FIGURES ARE SMALL ENOUGH TO BE DIFFICULT TO BE READ MAINLY UNDER ARTIFICIAL LIGHT.
I THINK IT WOULD BE A GREAT IMPROVEMENT IF THEY WOULD MOUNT A DIAL WINDOW WITH A MAGNIFIER BUBBLE ON THE AREA OF THE DATE.
AFTER ALL TO HAVE ALWAYS THE CORRECT DATE IS THE MAIN CHARACTERISTIC OF THE WATCH AND TO HAVE THIS DATE PERFECTLY READABLE FOR EVERYBODY REGARDLESS OF THE SHARPNESS OF HIS SIGHT WOULD BE A PLUS.
I AM HAPPY TO HAVE PURCHASED IT AND I RECOMMEND IT TO ANY ONE LOOKING FOR A PERPETUAL CALENDAR WATCH.

(More customer reviews)got this watch on sale at sears for around 25$ i needed an alarm but hate the all digital watches and couldn't afford an all analog watch with alarm and chrono so i got this. casio makes way more analog/digital combo watches that any other maker. this watch is fantastic, large buttons, simple digital functions, you got the time on top then month,day and day of week on bottom. then alarm, stopwatch and a second timezone if you need that on bottom instead of the date..illuminator blue light lights up analog and digital display.. if i could change one thing i would give this watch a glass crystal because after a while you get scratches because its a plastic face. But all you need is to buff it with 'white paste style toothpaste' and it looks brand new again. Some people might have trouble reading the digital display, its not very big.

(More customer reviews)Initially I was very happy with this watch. When it stopped after only 4 months, I assumed the battery was dead from having been running in the store, but it checked out fine. After reinserting the battery, the watch ran fine for about 3 days, but since then on 4 occasions I have picked the watch up from my nightstand to find the crown pulled fully out, and the watch stopped. After the first time, I've always made sure it was pushed in when I put it down, so I can only assume something is wrong in the watch that causes the (non-screw down) crown to eject. Very weird.

(More customer reviews)Watch leaked after just 5 Dives. After the fifth dive I noticed condensation on the inside of watch face and the indiglo light stopped working. Watch is supposed to be water resistant to 100m. Didn't dive close to that depth. Returned it. Had a feeling it wasn't just a lemon and probably would happen again with and exchange. Going to shop for a more expensive dive watch which is what I should have done in the first place. Watch worked well at telling time, so if you don't plan to dive with it then it will probably be just fine.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this watch at an outlet mall for a great price. I looked at a lot of sport watches before finding this one. It is a large, masculine looking watch but it is not over-sized or bulky like many of the watches that are in style now. The info states that the watch measures 42mm but it is closer to 44mm not including the crown, which when added would total 47mm. It has a rugged, durable feel and also looks great as a casual, everyday watch as well. What really sold me was the feel of the watch when I tried it on--it fit so nice and comfortable on my wrist. I have used it at the beach, fishing, in the pool and at water parks and it has held up great. For under $65, it would be hard to find a better watch with the same features and style.

Timex just astounds me at how much better quality their watches for such a reasonable price. I have a thing for watches but I can say with confidence that the Timex ones work perfectly (I have had multiple problems with Swiss Army and Tissot, which were a lot more money too, go figure).
Have gone swimming with it without any problems. INDIGLO feature was a huge plus for me as well.

Timex Men's T45781 Expedition E-Instruments Compass Watch Review

(More customer reviews)I needed a new watch, I climb, sail and sea kayak, and the style appealed to me as did the functions. The purchase price from the USA was 50% of the cheapest UK price. So far so good.
It arrived transatlantic in three days costing a further pricy premium of UKP20 for P/P.
In reality it is a big chunky watch - bigger than web illustrations suggest. The face lettering and numbers are very small and even with the good back light will be hard to read accurately in poor expedition weather with deck wash/ splash. The luminous hands and hollow compass/ tide needle are so similar, they can be easily confused, especially in poor/ wet weather, and this needs a colour revision from Timex.
Calibration of functions are straightforward and accurate, but take some time, but this is reasonable.
The tide feature is particularly useful for sea kayaking and sailing the skerries of the west coast of Scotland where keel draught vs tide is often of crucial importance.
The compass with declination adjustment must be reset for each significantly new location. The compass needle defaults to the tide setting after 20secs to save the battery, and understandable as this is, its a nuisance. The bezel moves easily unlike my Suunto. The Suunto altitude/ barometer watch defaults after a full minute. So accurate navigation using the compass feature in low visibility is not effectively possible. The compass is therefor a feature for occasionally checking good visibility headings and back bearings. It does not do away with a conventional compass. Most sea kayakers would have a deck compass or GPS, and would not decuff their waterproof layer and stop paddling to use this watch with its 20 secs default. The main knurled adjuster bites the back of my hand when paddling unless using offset paddle handles. Altering the metal links of the wrist band to wear inside or outside a glove is strictly an indoors and irritating procedure. The temperature feature in pragmatic terms is a gimmick unless the watch is removed from the wrist for 5 minutes.
In summary- I like the watch for its handsome chunky appearance, and especially at the USA purchase price. But its not a true expedition instrument, but remains fairly unique for its tide function which is really handy in judging flat tide, ebb and flow and engaging favourable currents and eddies. For this and its appearance it has pleased me.

(More customer reviews)I bought this watch a week ago at an unbeatable price of $47 incl. tax and shipping (almost 50% off the RRP). What I wanted was a watch that was useful for athletic training (I'm an avid runner and swimmer). What I received was a superb well-rounded G-Shock that surpassed my expectations regarding the purpose of the watch, one that has several unique features that other G-Shocks presently do not feature:
*1/1000 stopwatch with split and 999 lap time functions--perfect for athletic training, getting splits etc. while running or swimming.
*Auto-start feature--a 5 second countdown prior to starting the stopwatch, with cool animated graphics.
*2 100-hour countdown timers, adjustable to the second--ideal for interval training on long runs.
*Customizable alarms for weekend and weekday--great for people like me who have to wake up at 7am on weekdays and noon on weekends without having to constantly switch on/off different alarms.
*Customizable hourly signal--set it so that it only beeps on the hour during any specified period (ie. 7am-11pm), so that it doesn't beep while sleeping.
*Flash alert--red and green LEDs go off in sync with the alarms and stopwatch auto-start systems. With the stopwatch auto-start, the LEDs are employed to create a cool motor races effect by having red lights going off in sync with the countdown and green lights going off at the start itself.
Other features of the watch:
*World time in 48 cities--48 cities is new for me, previous G-Shocks only had 27 or so, perfect for frequent travelers like me.
*EL backlight (blue-green) with auto-EL function.
*A very comfortable strap with good fit, and a thin case (by G-Shock standards) makes for one of the most easy-to-wear G-Shocks ever.
*Buttons are extremely easy to push. Some users have complained that the "G" button on the front of the watch, which activates the EL backlight, is hard to press; that wasn't the case for me.
Some cons:
*EL backlight duration (1 second)--too short for me, especially on a display with so much information, presumably to increase battery life. 2 or 3 seconds would be ideal.
*Non-solar powered--given all the power-hungry features of this watch, solar power would be ideal, so as not to worry about running down the batteries with all the alarms, lights and all.
However, these are minor issues. I'm sure this watch would suit anyone out there--by far one of the most feature-packed yet comfortable-to-wear and stylish G-Shocks out there, perfect for any occasion.

(More customer reviews)Great watch for an outdoor water nut like myself. I scuba dive, fish, etc in saltwater and this watch is no problem.
Love the yellow/black color and size, and the price was right. It also has an hourly beep that strikes on the hour, which I find very handy.
There are also chronograph features I have not used yet, but look easy to set.
My only beef is with the Indiglo. I've used other Indiglo watches, usually analog, and they are much easier to read at night. On this model, only the digits light up, not the background, so unless you are in a very dark place, like a movie theater, it is pretty faint.
