This Timex 1440 Sports digital watch (model 5G911) is rugged enough to handle the most demanding training regimens but stylish enough to be worn with everyday sporty casual dress. The dial features a large, easily readable digital time display, and it has a unique day-of-the-week display at the top of the dial. Sport timing features include a 24-hour chronograph and 24-hour countdown timer. Other features include a daily alarm, dual time zone display, and water resistance to 50 meters (165 feet). It has a stylish silver resin case that's topped by a silver stainless steel top ring and a tapered blue/gray polyurethane strap.
The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer.

I personally would prefer a thinner case, but thicker cases like it has are stylish these days. The watch is not heavy and is hard to beat for the price. Highly recommended.

(More customer reviews)This watch has the perfect features for me. It has multiple alarms, and even some special occasion alarms for one time future alarms. I like the three alarms and the alarm features like weekday only or weekend only settings.
The bad news is that back light is basically useless except in total darkness. This watch does not utilize the highly effective Indiglo backlight. It uses a backlight process that lights only the numbers. The problem is that the lighting is far from bright enough to be used in anything but total darkness. In dusk or dawn conditions, initiating the backlight make the numerals totally invisible.
I only gave this 4 stars, since I have come to know when I can use the backlight, and am comfortable with that.

(More customer reviews)I already own the Timex Ironman 'Triathlon' GPS watch which I use for running. I wanted an inexpensive, but attractive, digital with a bit larger time display for casual wear - the time display on the Ironman is only about 2/3 the size of the 1440's. Setup was easy (normal display items plus daily alarm, 24-hour display and 'other' time zone); display size (the time, at any rate) is quite adequate; the watch is attractive. All the buttons worked fine for me . . . The only complaint I have is that the 'date' (day of month) display is easily partly obscured by any shadow cast by the high edge of the 1440 logo ledge at the top of the display. Also, the diameter of the face, at about 26mm, seems a tad small. However, this really is nit picking. The 1440 is a decent, attractive, 'name' digital at an unbeatable price!

(More customer reviews)I really like this watch, I got it for working out and jogging. I think it has a nice pleasant look to it, unlike many digital watches, and it is very comfortable to wear. Watch is very lightweight and the band looks very handsome. Has everything you really need, two time zones, timer, stopwatch, daily alarm, indiglo. I use the stopwatch to time how long my tea brews, and the timer to keep myself from burning things in the oven. The alarm has no snooze, so I wouldn't rely on that to wake you up, but perhaps you could use the alarm as a reminder to do something. For 15 bucks, this watch is a great buy.
