At 44x13mm this watch certainly has a good amount of heft to it. It's not a problem for me but if you don't want a large watch then look elsewhere.
This watch is very classy looking and I am very satisfied with it's appearance.
It comes with plenty of links for your sizing pleasure.
Yes as some reviewers noted, the instructions are 1 page and are just mostly just illustrations showing you how to use the functions of this watch. This also is not a problem for me because this is not a complex watch and the illustrations show you everything you need to know.
The reason I give this watch 4 stars instead of 5 has to do with the bezel that other reviewers have touched upon. I spent several minutes playing with it and here is the deal: Once you take the little plastic sheet off the face the bezel can rotate counter clockwise in clicks all the way around the face. The problem is that it is mis-alligned. The whole thing is off by half a click. It's not really noticeable unless you are really looking for it and I probably wouldn't have noticed it if the other reviewers hadn't noticed it, but I wanted the triangle on the bezel to be at the 12 o clock position and it is between 2 clicks. And yes the bezel has some play to it as others have noted.
I'm still keeping the watch because it's hardly noticeable and I like the everything else about the watch. Overall I encourage people to look at this as a $60-$70 watch not a $400+ watch and it is a good value.

Invicta Men's 8926 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch Review

(More customer reviews)I am very impressed with Invicta style and quality. They offer well-made watches at a very competitive price. I own seven Invicta watches and love each of them. They have the look and feel of a much more expensive watch.
This particular model looks almost identical to a Rolex Submariner. It is an automatic watch (if you don't wear it for around 24 hours or move around enough, the time must be reset) with 21 jewel Japanese movement and has a see through back that lets you view the automatic movement. The watch has a large 43mm face and it has Mercedes style hands and Tritnite luminescence markings with a magnified date marker. It is water resistant to 200 meters (just in case any of you will go down that far).
The one pictured above has an oyster-like bezel (Omega style). The older (Series 1 or S1) model of the 8926 have a coin edge bezel like the Rolex Submariner. The bezel rotates. Invicta makes really attractive bands that have a nice weight. The stainless steel silver band and black face combination is very sharp and will never go out of style. I have an 8.5" wrist and the watch accommodates my wrist with room to spare. They come in the trademark yellow Invicta box with an Invicta pillow.
The 9937 is an upgraded model of this watch that offers 25 jewel Swiss movement instead of the Japanese 21 jewel movement, a sapphire crystal, an improved stainless steel band (even though the one on the 8926 is great), solid end pieces, a better magnifier over the date, a flip lock safety clasp and a large rosewood box instead of the yellow box that comes with this 8926.

To do this, simply rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown must then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer. Overall, this process should not require a lot of effort or force.

I think I paid $54 for it then and the shipping was very quick. This is my first automatic and I love the fact that I never have to replace a battery. It has a simple elegance that reminds me of WWII British and American issue watches. It runs a little fast (probable gains a minute a week) but this is not a big issue.

Seiko 5 Men's SNK809 Automatic Black Strap Black Dial Watch Review

The SNK809 (which is black, but there are other colors). This has a 21 jewel movement (generally the 7S26B, but the earlier models have the 7S26). It has a 36mm case (excluding the crown) and18mm wide band.
The other model is the lager SNZG15 (which is black, but there are other colors). This has a 23 jewel movement (generally the 7S36B, but earlier models have the 7S36). It has a 40mm case (excluding crown) and an 22mm band.
Both of these watches are gray market. You won't see them for sale in US stores.
I've owned my SNK809 for several months and love it. Its very accurate for the price. Mine gains about 5 sec/day. You'll have to spend a lot of money to do better than that in the mechanical watch world.
Two of my friends own the SNZG15, and they seem to gain about 10 sec/day. Note: The fact the SNZG15 has 23 jewels doesn't mean its more accurate than a 21 jewel movement. It's larger, pushes more mass (bigger hands), and thus I speculate is inherently less accurate than the smaller SNK809.
I got my SNK809 on eBay for $45 + $25 shipping (2009). However, it was shipped from Hong Kong. It had to clear customs, shipping takes about three weeks, and has more inherent risk. I'd expect to pay more on Amazon if it was shipped from within the US. Similarly, I've seen the SNG15 for as little as $105 with free shipping, shipped from Singapore.
What I did not appreciate at the time I bought my SNK809 is that its water resistant rating is 30 meters (WR30M). 98 ft. That seems sufficient unless you're a serious scuba diver, right?
Wrong.
Look up water resistant ratings for watches on Wikipedia.
30 meters is the static water pressure for the test conducted in the ratings lab. The working/dynamic pressure rating will be much less. You should not even shower wearing a WR30M watch, let alone swim with it. WR30M is considered splash resistant only. I have splashed my watch, it still runs great, but depending upon your lifestyle, this may or may not be an issue.
The bigger SNZG15 is rated at WR100M, which you can swim and skin dive with. The smallest rating you should swim with (but no skin diving) is WR50M.
The other aspect of the SNK809 you should be aware of is that its smaller than most watches are today. In the 1960's an 18mm band was typical. Today its small, aesthetically, particularly for a person with large wrists.
When I first got my SNK809, I was taken aback by how thin the band looked (and I have smaller than average wrists). I have read the market Seiko is targeting with this model is teenagers in Asia. That market base probably has smaller wrists than the average American male.
But after wearing it for awhile, I noticed I wasn't banging it into things like I do with my larger watch. And it fit under my shirt sleeves better.
Its notable that my friends say the 22mm SNZG15 is a bit bigger than they wish it was.
I've concluded I like the 18mm band. I'm an outdoorsman (when I can be), and do wish the SNK809 was at least WR50M. Other reviewers will say they wish it had a hacking mechanism or a sapphire crystal. Those are not issues for me, and for the price, let's get real.
This is a phenomenal mechanical watch for what you'll pay. I wear mine to work every day. I wear it to meetings and snicker to myself as my second hand moves at six clicks per second, while others sitting at the table suffer the one second lurch of the ubiquitous quartz movement. Yes, I'm a watch geek. Just be aware of the smaller width of the band and WR30M rating. If those aren't big issues for you, you can't beat it.

It is a beautiful watch and keeps amazingly precise time; it has 38 jewels, is automatic but can be wound, and my only complaint does not concern the watch but my eyes, being sixty I find it hard to read the day counter, but the whole face is quite legible, and for this reasonable amount for someone wanting a beautifully finished quality automatic watch I recommend it.

I sent it to Seiko for repair and it was going to cost more to fix than it was worth. I bought this Timex and it's magnificent, and a great value. It keeps perfect time as if it were a battery watch. It never loses charge power with normal use (plus it has a gauge to tell you if you are low) and you can even wind it if you wish. It looks fabulous and the band is of very high quality. I highly recommend it.

Timex Men's T45781 Expedition E-Instruments Compass Watch Review

(More customer reviews)I needed a new watch, I climb, sail and sea kayak, and the style appealed to me as did the functions. The purchase price from the USA was 50% of the cheapest UK price. So far so good.
It arrived transatlantic in three days costing a further pricy premium of UKP20 for P/P.
In reality it is a big chunky watch - bigger than web illustrations suggest. The face lettering and numbers are very small and even with the good back light will be hard to read accurately in poor expedition weather with deck wash/ splash. The luminous hands and hollow compass/ tide needle are so similar, they can be easily confused, especially in poor/ wet weather, and this needs a colour revision from Timex.
Calibration of functions are straightforward and accurate, but take some time, but this is reasonable.
The tide feature is particularly useful for sea kayaking and sailing the skerries of the west coast of Scotland where keel draught vs tide is often of crucial importance.
The compass with declination adjustment must be reset for each significantly new location. The compass needle defaults to the tide setting after 20secs to save the battery, and understandable as this is, its a nuisance. The bezel moves easily unlike my Suunto. The Suunto altitude/ barometer watch defaults after a full minute. So accurate navigation using the compass feature in low visibility is not effectively possible. The compass is therefor a feature for occasionally checking good visibility headings and back bearings. It does not do away with a conventional compass. Most sea kayakers would have a deck compass or GPS, and would not decuff their waterproof layer and stop paddling to use this watch with its 20 secs default. The main knurled adjuster bites the back of my hand when paddling unless using offset paddle handles. Altering the metal links of the wrist band to wear inside or outside a glove is strictly an indoors and irritating procedure. The temperature feature in pragmatic terms is a gimmick unless the watch is removed from the wrist for 5 minutes.
In summary- I like the watch for its handsome chunky appearance, and especially at the USA purchase price. But its not a true expedition instrument, but remains fairly unique for its tide function which is really handy in judging flat tide, ebb and flow and engaging favourable currents and eddies. For this and its appearance it has pleased me.

(More customer reviews)This watch is one of the most durable, most reliable watches I have ever seen! To be honest I was very surprised at how long this thing lasted. I'm a Marine, and I bought this watch almost two years ago, and since buying it the watch has been through Marine Combat Training, hot and cold climate conditions, Mojave Viper training exercises a full tour in Iraq and a deployment to Bangladesh.
As a Combat Engineer and working hard, long hours of construction on all my deployments I can tell you hands down that this watch has taken a hell of a beating. It has out-performed so many other watches, that I am reluctant to get rid of it and get a new one. For the $25 you would pay for this watch you will get a product that will last you through hell and back. I will say though that some features were not up to par, thus why I rated it at 4 stars and not five.
The following are the only minor indiscretions I have with the watch. For one, like another review stated, the analog knob for adjusting time fell out one day when I went to adjust the time. I was able to put it back in though, and it still held up its water resistance up until the present. I can attest to this, having just completed a swim qualification and the fact that I wear it in the shower everyday. That was all fine and dandy, but about a month after my deployment to Iraq, the analog function stopped working completely. Everything was still good, as the digital time on the watch still functions perfectly and that's all I need. The only other thing that failed on me, and this is the big one, is the rubber that holds that band in place. This broke a couple days ago, and it broke my heart. This was a great watch, and to be honest I just put electrical tape on it to hold the band to the case, but I think I'll bite the bullet here and just get a new watch.
Hats off to Armitron for making one of the most durable, long lasting watches I have ever seen. I would highly recommend this watch as an inexpensive watch for someone in any lines of work involving hard labor, long hours and low pay. Great deal, it will last you long time, and definitely some serious bang for your buck.

(More customer reviews)I've had this watch for almost 4 years. I wear it to work, work on my car with it, and wear it as a "beater" watch. It has scratches and a couple of small dings, but works perfectly. It's still on the same battery. The steel bracelet has become difficult to lock down, but still does. The luminous paint is not bright, but the Indiglo light is fabulous! Even though it's only water resistant to 50 meters, I've been swimming with it once. You should not swim with a watch that's less than 100 meters. When you move your arm under water fast, you're putting alot of water pressure on the watch. For $30-35, you will get your money's worth.
