(More customer reviews)This watch has one color for the big hour hand and the corresponding hour numbers around the watch dial, and a different color for the big minute hand and the minute numbers around the watch dial. Our 6 year old grandaughter was able to give us the correct time immediately using this watch. What a wonderful teaching tool, and she was so proud of her ability to tell time. The velcro wrist band was also so easy for young fingers to use.

The size of this watch is smaller than I expected, feeling like a beautiful toy. The advantage and disadvantage is the the same, the band is made of cloth. It might feel comfort but easy get to dirty and sweat for young kids.

Timex Kids' T7B581 Time Teacher Purple Monkey Stretch Band Watch Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this as a gift for a young girl--and it was a hit. The only reason it is not five stars is that she never wanted to take it off and she loves swimming! I don't have much money to spend, but I thought the money on this was watch well spent. I don't think that she'll lose it because she won't take it off long enough. The description of the band was wrong, however. It is more of an elastic material, and, once we had it adjusted for her fit, she could just slip it on and off her wrist. When she grows, there is plenty of room left in the strap that it will grow with her.
Just as I thought, she did not know how to read an analog watch. However, Timex has added enought information on the face (noting 15 minute intervals and putting the first 30 minutes on the "past" side and the last 30 minutes on the "to" side, she will have it figured out in no time. GREAT birthday gift that was totally unexpected.

The pink hour hand points to the pink numbers for the hour and the purple minute hands points to the purple numbers for the minutes (5, 10, 15, 20,...). The fact that the hands match the coresponding numbers is a huge bonus. The band is easy to get on and off and my daughters says it is very comfortable. My only complaint is that the band seems to be stretching out a little but I guess that is to be expected. Overall, I'm very pleased with the watch.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this watch for my daughter's 4th birthday. She's just learning to tell time. I like that this has an easily adjustable elastic band and is water resistant. So far, it's still working even having been through the washer and drier. My daughter loves it and I like that it's not character-based (i.e. Dora) so that when she outgrows her current interests she won't outgrow the watch. The loss protection plan is also a plus.

(More customer reviews)I got this for my 7 year old daughter for her birthday and she loves it. The pink and denim colors go with every outfit she wears. There are three little flowers that move around the face of the watch to keep the seconds and the hour and minute hands are different colors to help keep them from getting confused. The band is easily adjustable and stretchy, the best part being she can get the watch on and off easily which is wonderful for someone with fine motor skill difficulties. All and all, we are very happy with this watch.

The strap is elastic and adjustable - my only complaint is that it doesn't stay in the position you set it, so the strap size changes everytime you pull on it. Other than that - a great product!

(More customer reviews)My daugther loved this watch. Initially, she wanted the very expensive Flik Flak by Swatch. Luckily, I found this alternative, which she preferred, for les than half the price! This watch has a very bright light (INDIGLO) when you press the crown.
My only complain is that the elastic band is too long. I had to adjust it for my 7 year old and there is too much "extra" band. Not a big deal.
The watch comes with a $10 replacement warranty in case that the watch is lost.

(More customer reviews)We purchased the Timex Children's Heart and Butterfly watch for our 5 year old daughter for Christmas. For a watch claiming to help children learn to tell time, the face and numbers are quite small and hard to see. The face is plastic, which became scratched the first time she wore it. Which leads me to the clasp...there is no way to adjust this watch for a small wrist. It is way too big for a 5 year old, and I had to sew it together to make it fit her wrist. The cheap metal clasp does not adjust....so keep that in mind!
I would not recommend this product.

The watch itself is very small in size and perfect for young children. This is smaller than a woman's size watch. The watch is very simple but the different colored hands and the minutes listed above the numbers make these very easy to teach kids how to tell time. I highly recommend this watch for young children.

My young daughter loves it. Unfortunately, one was taken from her without her knowing, so here I am buying another. It is REALLY a time teacher!!!
It's also durable and attractive to look at which are pluses...
When the band is dirty, just remove it and wash - it looks as good as new!
