(More customer reviews)This watch has one color for the big hour hand and the corresponding hour numbers around the watch dial, and a different color for the big minute hand and the minute numbers around the watch dial. Our 6 year old grandaughter was able to give us the correct time immediately using this watch. What a wonderful teaching tool, and she was so proud of her ability to tell time. The velcro wrist band was also so easy for young fingers to use.

It holds up the the abuse of a 3 yr old and he never gets tired of wearing it. The face of the watch is great. Big enough numbers for him to read and the little car is adorable. Would recommend this product.

We love these watches because they are good-looking and fun to watch the picture go around the face of the watch. But more importantly, as a parent, I really like these watches because the hour and minute hand are color coordinated with the numbers on the watch face, and the minute numbers are shown in counts of five. It makes learning how to read an analog watch much easier and fun for kids. It's proven to be durable and has a warranty in case your kid loses it (I know because it happened to one of our kids). I would highly recommend this watch and not get any other for a kid.

The size of this watch is smaller than I expected, feeling like a beautiful toy. The advantage and disadvantage is the the same, the band is made of cloth. It might feel comfort but easy get to dirty and sweat for young kids.

Fortunately, I am handy with a sewing machine and was able to take a pinch in the band, but it makes it bulky and uncomfortable. Therefore, he only wears it in bed so that he can play with the indiglo feature in the dark. As soon as he gets up in the morning, though, he takes it off.

My son is allergic to base metals and this band has a cloth covering so none of the metal ever touches his skin, so he is on his 3rd watch now. Each one lasted about 2 years, which for a boy's watch is pretty good.

Timex Kids' T7B581 Time Teacher Purple Monkey Stretch Band Watch Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this as a gift for a young girl--and it was a hit. The only reason it is not five stars is that she never wanted to take it off and she loves swimming! I don't have much money to spend, but I thought the money on this was watch well spent. I don't think that she'll lose it because she won't take it off long enough. The description of the band was wrong, however. It is more of an elastic material, and, once we had it adjusted for her fit, she could just slip it on and off her wrist. When she grows, there is plenty of room left in the strap that it will grow with her.
Just as I thought, she did not know how to read an analog watch. However, Timex has added enought information on the face (noting 15 minute intervals and putting the first 30 minutes on the "past" side and the last 30 minutes on the "to" side, she will have it figured out in no time. GREAT birthday gift that was totally unexpected.

It has a hour, minute and second hand, all in different colors so it is easy to distinguish each. The little car attached to the second hand does not block the view of the numbers. Other watches have something attached to the second hand that blocks the view of the numbers. I wanted my grandson to be able to see all the numbers all the time.

The pink hour hand points to the pink numbers for the hour and the purple minute hands points to the purple numbers for the minutes (5, 10, 15, 20,...). The fact that the hands match the coresponding numbers is a huge bonus. The band is easy to get on and off and my daughters says it is very comfortable. My only complaint is that the band seems to be stretching out a little but I guess that is to be expected. Overall, I'm very pleased with the watch.
