After getting used to the watch band clasp and getting "sold" on all the capabilities, I discovered that the buttons were hard to push. Most annoying of all was the fact that the lap counter button would sometimes record 2 laps with one push. Totally threw off the average lap time, etc. It seemed to occur once in every 12 laps.
I returned it and got the Timex Ironman T5K007 (50-laps). First time at the gym it worked perfectly. Also saved some money!

Timex Customer Service wants me to pay to ship it to them AND $7.00 to have it shipped back to me after "fixing" it. These watches suffered no abuse. I have 50 years using Timex and these were the first problem. They must be making a shoddier product. Very unsatisfactory service.

For me, a wind up ticking watch seems to be alive, it has a 'Soul' so to speak. By making this watch with a quartz movement Timex has made a beautiful watch but is lacking the 'Ticking' that Timex is fameous for. Still, a great value for only $30.

(More customer reviews)Saw this item in Details magazine and thought it was just what I wanted: a classic watch that I could wear dressy or casual, but inexpensive enough to not worry about scratching or losing.
What I couldn't see from the photo, however, was how THICK the case is. I didn't notice it right there in the product description (12 mm), but when I put it on my wrist, the fact that it's almost 1/2" thick is readily apparent.
On the wrist, it wasn't the sleek style I was looking for. Needless to say, I returned the item right away.

So far, so good, which is what I expected from a basic Timex. The only comment I would make that isn't positive is that the face isn't white as it appears online. It actually has a beige tint to it... just slightly off-white, which was not an issue for me. However, it's something that would have been nice to know before I opened the box.

It features a light-up function for the dark (just press in the dial on the right), so you can see the time at night. It keeps time solidly - no cumulative lagging or skipping ahead. The numerals and minute/hour hands are large and clear enough that I can read them without my glasses or contacts - great for right before bed or first thing in the morning.My only problem is that the strap can snap off easily - mine did when I caught it in a strap while I was putting on a backpack. Hence, you may need to reattach or replace the strap, which is likely to wear out or break long before the timekeeping part. Still, the quality of the timepiece makes this a fine product, and a good value for the price.

Timex Men's T5H721 Ironman Triathlon Sleek 150-Lap Resin Strap Watch Review

(More customer reviews)The time piece on this watch is great - Lots of functions, durable, easy to read, plenty of lap memory and easy to navigate. HOWEVER, the resin band will tear or fall apart after a couple of years of use, and because the strap is built into the structure of the time piece, it is NOT replaceable. Once the strap tears, the watch is useless to you. I know this because I have already gone through 3 torn watch bands and am now on my 4th version of this watch.
This silver lining I can offer you: Timex will completely replace the watch for only a $10 fee. You mail it in to them asking for a watch band repair (which they charge $10 for) and, because the band is not replaceable, they will simply send you back a brand new watch with equal or similar capabilities. So be forewarned. I have never purchased a Resin Band watch that didn't tear and I have several other running friends who have experienced the same results.

(More customer reviews)I wish I would have known that the band for this watch has a very reddish tinge to it. It's almost maroon, not brown. I wanted more of a chocolate brown, since I never wear maroon. I have small wrists, so it fits me great with a couple holes to spare. I bought this to replace my other Timex watch that is too big even on the smallest hole. My old watch also didn't have the QuickDate feature, which this one does. You don't know how big a difference it makes until you don't wear it for awhile and suddenly realize it's a week or 2 off! It takes a LONG time to manually spin through 24 hours to get the date to change by 1. It's SO worth it to get the QuickDate feature! Also I love the gold color trim and the mother of pearl watch face. It looks very professional and classy without having to wear a really flashy fancy watch. I may end up keeping it and just having my local watch shop at the mall replace the band for a few bucks.

(More customer reviews)I'm on my second defective watch of this style, having just exchanged the first one. The first watch worked fine for a couple of months, and then the date stopped advancing. Sometimes I could get the date to advance by pulling the stem all the way out and adjusting the time, and sometimes the date wouldn't budge except when the stem was halfway out. Once reset, the date might advance for a couple of days before stopping again, or it might not advance at all - it was hit or miss. The watch did always keep time, and the Indiglo feature always worked. I exchanged it for a new watch of the same style, and this second watch stops every night at 11:15. My guess is that this is when the date starts to advance. When I wake up in the morning I can advance the time and the date forward and reset it by pulling the stem all the way out, and then it will tell the time during the day but it will usually stop again the next evening at 11:15. Once it stopped at 2:30 or somewhere thereabouts, but it usually stops at 11:15. Again, the Indiglo feature works fine. I like the styling and big numbers, but having a watch that doesn't tell time kind of defeats the purpose.
