(More customer reviews)I've used Casios for many years and after the last one died after only two years, I started searching for a nice looking watch for a reasonable price. After eliminating countless models from Casio through Heuer, I rediscovered Timex, a brand I hadn't bought in 20 years.
I was concerned about the watch's face and band being too blue, but the color is quite dark. The light blue accents on the band look good. So far the case and glass face are quite durable. I paid something like $38--I would have trouble getting a metal cased Casio for this money.
I wonder about the battery life since I can hear the sweep second hand move from 8 inches away--must take a lot of battery power to generate that sound, which I believe is by design.

(More customer reviews)Just picked this up NIB from an ebay vendor. Initial observations (strictly from the view of the author):
1. Plastic insert around the crown a bit hard to remove; had to be cut off.
2. Initial timing for first 24 hours is accurate within +/- a second with the setting not done against an outside timing source and just relying on my existing quartz watches.
3. Readability may be a problem due to no lume on hands or markers and minute markers between the numbered markers (on chapter ring) hard to read unless watch is held at different angles.
4. For a time-only watch, the case seems a bit thick. I have calendar watches that are slimmer. (Measured case width at 38MM without crown; 40MM with crown; case thickness not yet measured.)
5. Watch strap (Chinese made) a bit stiff, but a poupular-size lug width (20MM) make availability for interchangeable straps easy. (And strap may become more flexible with use.)
6. Water-resistance (100M) good for a watch in this price range.
7. Pricing from this vendor good at 50% of MSRP with free delivery.
8. Overall an attractive and useful watch for those desiring a simple and inexpensive timepiece with no complications other than a small second hand in subdial at the 6 o'clock position.
9. Printed instruction sheet states that warranty (1-year against manufacturing defects only and excluding the usual strap,case,crystal, battery, misuse) is good only if purchased from an AD, but [...] confirms that warranty will be honored regardless of purchase source if new. Timex also offers a warranty extension for new watches to 5 years for $5 if purchased within a certain period of initial ownership.
I'll update as the "experience factor" kicks in.

My only real complaint is that to change the date you have to wind it round and round for 24 times to move one day. It dosnt have the feature where you can change the date by itself. So the winding is annoying but you only have to do it once a month.

So far, so good, which is what I expected from a basic Timex. The only comment I would make that isn't positive is that the face isn't white as it appears online. It actually has a beige tint to it... just slightly off-white, which was not an issue for me. However, it's something that would have been nice to know before I opened the box.

(More customer reviews)This is my fourth Timex indigo and I have always been pleased with the attractiveness, durability and basic quality. Rather than replace the watch band or the battery after a year or so, I get a new watch.
There are two things about this watch that surprised me. The face is much larger than I expected and therefore the watch does not hold securely on the wrist. Second, the illumination in dark places is not nearly as bright as the previous watches.

I agree.

I thought the battery was dead and replaced it..only to find out the battery was good and the second hand was sticking on its way around the face. I've kept the watch, but will have to get to a jeweler who will fix a Timex. Most of them around town turn up their noses. I ended up buying a Seiko since this was intended as a gift to my nephew. The Seiko is self winding and has no problems with workmanship. Sometimes you get a lemon.

(More customer reviews)I have had this watch for several years now. I am a very active grown women. This watch is perfect for a small wrist-ed (about 6") women. I have only changed the battery once. I have swum in the Gulf of Mexico, did 30ft+ drops into the bayou with it, gardening, hiking, camping, etc. It's very tough, and the band has held up wonderfully, only starting to show its age this last year. Recently it has begun losing minutes every night. After searching the stores and online for a replacement watch I was sooo happy to be able to find the same watch on Amazon. It's definitely not just for kids!
