I had my jeweler adjust the band because the tools needed are tiny. I love the large easy to read face and the indiglo light for night. All around great watch and great deal.

(More customer reviews)This is an attractive gold tone dress watch for a reasonable price. The 10 year battery life is a great feature... not so much for the cost of replacing the battery, but for maintaining the integrity of the water-resistant seal. Every watch I've owned in the past has lost its water resistance the first time the battery was replaced. The Indiglow night light makes this watch very easy to read at night too.
The gold tone expansion band is also quite attactive. Unfortunately, it has exceptionally sharp edges on the inside of the bracelet that scrape and pinch the skin whenever the band moves against the wrist. The band is also on the small side for a man's watch, so this makes it dig in even more. If you buy this watch, you may want to add in the cost of a more comfortable replacement watch band.

(More customer reviews)I've used Casios for many years and after the last one died after only two years, I started searching for a nice looking watch for a reasonable price. After eliminating countless models from Casio through Heuer, I rediscovered Timex, a brand I hadn't bought in 20 years.
I was concerned about the watch's face and band being too blue, but the color is quite dark. The light blue accents on the band look good. So far the case and glass face are quite durable. I paid something like $38--I would have trouble getting a metal cased Casio for this money.
I wonder about the battery life since I can hear the sweep second hand move from 8 inches away--must take a lot of battery power to generate that sound, which I believe is by design.

(More customer reviews)I've owned this watch for about 6 years. It keeps perfect time, but was returned to Timex once for warranty repair (the Indiglo would not turn on). This feature has again failed this year and the crystal now is showing condensation; I still use the watch daily except when hunting /fishing (can't read before sunrise!).
It is cheaper and more convenient to buy a new one then send to Timex again. Besides Amazon has it for less than half of what I paid at a local retailer!
Hey, maybe I'm tough on watches, but I'm sold on Timex value. It truly "takes a licking and keeps on ticking".

The only problem I can find (and the only reason I didn't give it five stars) is how loud it is. The ticking noise is very noticeable in quiet situations. It should be ok for everyday situations, but I wouldn't take it with me to the library.

(More customer reviews)Just picked this up NIB from an ebay vendor. Initial observations (strictly from the view of the author):
1. Plastic insert around the crown a bit hard to remove; had to be cut off.
2. Initial timing for first 24 hours is accurate within +/- a second with the setting not done against an outside timing source and just relying on my existing quartz watches.
3. Readability may be a problem due to no lume on hands or markers and minute markers between the numbered markers (on chapter ring) hard to read unless watch is held at different angles.
4. For a time-only watch, the case seems a bit thick. I have calendar watches that are slimmer. (Measured case width at 38MM without crown; 40MM with crown; case thickness not yet measured.)
5. Watch strap (Chinese made) a bit stiff, but a poupular-size lug width (20MM) make availability for interchangeable straps easy. (And strap may become more flexible with use.)
6. Water-resistance (100M) good for a watch in this price range.
7. Pricing from this vendor good at 50% of MSRP with free delivery.
8. Overall an attractive and useful watch for those desiring a simple and inexpensive timepiece with no complications other than a small second hand in subdial at the 6 o'clock position.
9. Printed instruction sheet states that warranty (1-year against manufacturing defects only and excluding the usual strap,case,crystal, battery, misuse) is good only if purchased from an AD, but [...] confirms that warranty will be honored regardless of purchase source if new. Timex also offers a warranty extension for new watches to 5 years for $5 if purchased within a certain period of initial ownership.
I'll update as the "experience factor" kicks in.

It does everything that a watch should do, something you can't always say for the extravagant watches, which seem to be merely for fashion purposes. This watch tells time, tells the day, and has an indiglo light. The only problem about this watch is the comfort factor. Behind the dial there is no leather to the wrist, so there is a dial sized hole there that can get irritating.

HOWEVER, within 2 weeks of getting this watch the analog hands failed, and then just today the waterproofing failed in the pool, I was able to un-fog the screen by opening the watch, but the buttons are all unresponsive and the screen is dead. Contacting timex now to see if they will repair it.
