(More customer reviews)Bought this watch a little less than a year ago for the purposes of doing my summer training with it. The first thing you notice right out of the box is how CLEAR and LARGE the display is. No joke it is probably the easiest to read watch that I've ever owned. I'm a huge Casio fan and I'd say this thing blows Casio out of the water in terms of readability. Another thing I really liked about this watch was the split function. Only ONE Casio G shock has this function (DW-7700) and it is simply too bulky to run with and the numbers are a hassle to read. With this watch I can see my split times for each lap and my total time slightly above that which is great for tempo runs and the like. This brings me to my next point which is the weight of the watch itself. It is so light and slim you might even forget you're wearing it! If you're not into bulky watches this is really one for you. The menu layout is also great, functionality (as always with Timex) is SUPERB considering I didn't even have to open the instruction booklet because the watch basically has directions on how to do everything right on the screen you're trying to use. I've also found that the light (indiglo) on this watch is very useful as well but if you're running in the dark it can be hard to see because only the numbers light up and not the background, it takes a little getting used to but not really a big deal. The only 'bad' thing I can come up with is that SOMETIMES if you're getting roughed up a bit or jumping off a cliff into water :) the little band that holds the watch strap together might come off. This happens rarely and can be a slight annoyance but is made an even rarer occurrence due to the fact that there is a lip on the strap that stops the little band from sliding off which is a nice touch. Another nice little feature that I like to see is that the buckle on the strap is metal instead of a cheap plastic. Also let me just say in the whole entire time that I've had this watch there have been several occasions where it's gotten pretty banged up and you can't call it a G Shock but you can't say it's not one tough summabitch!
All in all great watch and DEAD SEXY to boot! You're really getting a huge bang for your buck. Goes with just about anything and honestly I've been wearing it all the time since I got it over half a year ago. Put over 350 miles running on it the summer I got it and made some good memories :D Love mine and I'm sure it won't disappoint you :)

I really like the light button on the top (much easier to access while driving) compared to the li'l button on the side of most Casios. The digits light up without lighting up the whole watch (nice in a darkened theater). It is super simple to use and doesn't look like some kind of space kid's watch or Rambo-wannabe watch. I lost my first one, so I'm back to Amazon for number 2. I might even pick up a spare since products these days seem to change so rapidly (and not always for the better). The previous reviewer dissed this fine watch because it was not large enough. Man, I love this watch because it isn't too big. So many of the Mens sport watches these days seem to be a obnoxious cross between a hockey puck and a bar of soap with a wrist strap. It's a time piece. I don't need to call attention to myself with its ginormousness, nor do I want to be banging it on all manner of obstructions due to its bloated proportions. Bravo to Casio for getting this one right. Great watch for a great price!

(More customer reviews)I'm a huge fan of my Timex "Digital Expedition Chrono Alarm Timer Watch", but occasionally having a compass would be handy. And indeed, the compass on this watch works pretty well. But I'll probably never wear the thing, because it's so poorly designed as a watch.
The buttons are large. I don't much care for them, but they might be nice for someone with limited dexterity. The ridiculous movable ring has no real purpose, makes the watch more bulky, and makes the wearer look stupid. OK, I'm being picky and if these were the watch's only flaws I'd be happy with it.
I just can't understand putting such a pathetic user interface on this watch. My other Timex watch has "+" and "-" buttons for setting the time, timer, and alarm. But not this watch. If you want a 1 minute timer but it was previously set to 2 minutes, you have to cycle through 99 minutes to get back to 1. And your only option is integer minutes, 1 through 99.
There's a single alarm, which will sound at the same time every day. I don't think I'd use it much, since I'd have to remember to set it for my weekday and weekend wakeup times. (My other Timex has three alarms, with daily, weekday, and weekend settings.)
There's no alternate time zone, which I use a lot on my other Timex.
The top right button is dedicated to the compass. That really seems dumb -- do you really need one-touch heading while you're setting the time? Instead, they should use that button for something useful like "+" and "-" for setting times.
The "indiglo" light is inferior to the one on my other Timex. It works fine in dark conditions, but it can be difficult to read in some dim light conditions.

(More customer reviews)We've had this watch for little over a year. The elastic strap started to fray and come apart a few weeks ago. Then the rubber housing that holds the watch to the strap broke. So now we have a good working watch with no way to hold it on the wrist. Not the kind of wristband you'd find a the local drugstore. And anyway no way to attach it to the watch anymore.
The elastic band difficult to adjust to the right size. Also, though the watch itself is waterproof, the elastic band takes a long time to dry so not very comfortable to wear after a swim.

First of all, the readability is outstanding, Day and Date included! Switch to two different time-zones at a touch of a button if you're the traveling type. A 24 Hour countdown with repeat (unlike basic G-Shocks which only has an hour) a 10 lap memory, An alarm function that can be program to set either weekdays or weekends only, and its waterproof to 100m. Who really needs to go deep sea diving everyday?! I leave this on when I shower and swim and it keeps on going. The watch feels so light, that sometimes you forget you have it on. Why spend $80+ on a bulky G-Shock watch when you can be as tough and rugged on this fine watch. The thickness of the band feels just right, I know for sure this can be passed down to my unborn son since it feels so rugged. I know this watch doesn't exactly scream "I drive a Porsche" but it definitely says "I placed the money I saved on buying this watch on a Roth IRA and can enjoy my retirement because I have lived practical life" . You won't cry if you lose it either because its under $30! F anyone who judges you for being sensible

(More customer reviews)I generally like the Timex Expedition series because they have both an alarm and a light on an analog watch.
I had an older Timex Expedition that had a rotating ring around the face. This ring was used to set the time and the alarm, and was very simple and quick to use. Just spin the ring to the alarm time, and pull out the crown to set the alarm. There was also a nice feature that would let you set an alarm for up to 1 hour from now, which was nice for setting timers for cooking, etc., without having to set the 12 hour alarm.
On this new watch, there is both an analog face and a digital display as well. I had hoped that they would be synchronized with each other. However, there is no connection between the two parts. The time must be set twice, once for analog using the crown, and once for digital using the buttons, and they do not necessarily stay in sync. I had hoped that you would use the crown to set both the analog and digital times at the same time. Also, the alarm is only settable on the digital part, using the buttons. The procedure for setting the digital alarm is hard to remember how to do, since I don't do it every day. I also miss the "under 1 hour" alarm feature from my old Timex.

Timex Women's T49661 Expedition Classic Digital Chronograph Watch Review

(More customer reviews)I wanted a watch that looks good, is accurate, water resistant, able to take everyday knocks and, more importantly, isn't too big on the wrist. My choice boiled down to two - Casio G-Shock and Timex Expedition. The G-Shocks are the toughest watches money can buy (probably) and seemed to fit all the criteria, so I got one. However, I've found that it's just that bit too chunky for me. And then I found this.
Timex have several models in this Expedition range with only cosmetic differences to the case and strap. All of them look great, but I decided on this all black version. As a guy, I was a bit worried that a midsize watch might be too small (and girlie) for my 7" wrist, but I'm pleased to say that it isn't at all, though Timex also have a larger version (T45961 and variants). Personally, I prefer the smaller size. Having a resin case means it's also very light and durable.
I won't dwell on the features as these are pretty much standard for a digital watch, though the digits are a good size and in addition you do get three alarms and a timer, plus one other feature that sets Timex apart and which I love - Indiglo - in this case illuminating only the digits not the whole face, which I think is more refined. I'm also greatly impressed with the overall finish and quality feel of the watch. For example, the lettering is etched, rather rather than printed, and the buttons have positive and wobble-free operation.
Unlike the reviewer below, I've decided to keep the supplied strap primarily because it's extremely well made. I thought it would be flimsy and need replacement, but if anything the opposite is true. Apart from having resin pieces at the spring bar ends engraved with the 'E' logo, greatly adding to the overall look, it's made of a double layer of nylon and edge stitched. It's therefore quite thick (about 2mm) with a substantial stainless steel buckle and the holes are very cleanly cut and finished with no burrs. I think it adds greatly to the overall quality and I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts for the lifetime of the watch. I also think that the black and grey stripes on this model look cool, too!
Overall, a very good-looking, unobtrusive and durable watch, and quite impressive quality even at twice the price. If you're a guy looking for a smaller size watch with no loss of functionality or features then I'd have no hesitation in unreservedly recommending this, and/or other Expedition series watches from Timex.

Timex Men's T77862 Expedition Digital Compass Watch Review

(More customer reviews)I have had this watch for over 3 years and all functions work fine.I did change the battery once a year ago, which is not easy to do without the right tiny tools. There is a spring clip which holds the battery in and must be released to remove the battery. Also, I have had trouble finding the CR1620 battery at local stores, but you can get it online. Last summer the watch suddenly reset itself to 1/1/00 several times for no apparent reason, but this has not happened again. I suspect the humidity got to it a bit. The compass is accurate and not hard to calibrate. If you like this watch, I suggest comparing it to the LaCrosse XG20 compass watch which is more stylish and perhaps more functional at about the same price.

(More customer reviews)I've been a fan of sports watches for more than 10 years but prefer fabric watch bands/straps, as opposed to rubber straps/bands. This is the best watch of its kind by far. It's not my first Timex but they have improved the features. The best new (at least to me) feature is the Indiglo button being in addition to the usual 4 buttons to change mode, set, etc. As with prior Timex watches of this type, it has 2 time settings--great for travelers or just daylight savings time changes. I especially like that it has 3 separate alarm settings and each can be set for daily, weekdays, or weekends. With the addition of the Indiglo button, setting time and alarms is simplifed and quick because there's plus/minus buttons, as opposed to having to roll around to get an earlier hour/time. This is a great watch and a good value for the price. I am still waiting for my free baseball cap which was supposed to be part of the deal.

(More customer reviews)So far I am happy with this watch. Note that this particular model is gray/pink, rather than black/pink. The numbers are large and easy to read, though as a consequence the watch face is rather large. I use the chronometer frequently when running. The lap/split button is large and easy to access. It is easy to review the split times afterwards. When setting the watch, you can go forward or backward, which saves time for small backward adjustments. If you don't use all of the features (all three alarms, etc.), you change the settings so that they don't appear when you cycle through the functions with the mode button. Reading the manual will save time in learning how to use the various features, but most are fairly intuitive. The band is comfortable. I cannot speak to the longevity or water resistance of this watch.

(More customer reviews)Bought this watch a little less than a year ago for the purposes of doing my summer training with it. The first thing you notice right out of the box is how CLEAR and LARGE the display is. No joke it is probably the easiest to read watch that I've ever owned. I'm a huge Casio fan and I'd say this thing blows Casio out of the water in terms of readability. Another thing I really liked about this watch was the split function. Only ONE Casio G shock has this function (DW-7700) and it is simply too bulky to run with and the numbers are a hassle to read. With this watch I can see my split times for each lap and my total time slightly above that which is great for tempo runs and the like. This brings me to my next point which is the weight of the watch itself. It is so light and slim you might even forget you're wearing it! If you're not into bulky watches this is really one for you. The menu layout is also great, functionality (as always with Timex) is SUPERB considering I didn't even have to open the instruction booklet because the watch basically has directions on how to do everything right on the screen you're trying to use. I've also found that the light (indiglo) on this watch is very useful as well but if you're running in the dark it can be hard to see because only the numbers light up and not the background, it takes a little getting used to but not really a big deal. The only 'bad' thing I can come up with is that SOMETIMES if you're getting roughed up a bit or jumping off a cliff into water :) the little band that holds the watch strap together might come off. This happens rarely and can be a slight annoyance but is made an even rarer occurrence due to the fact that there is a lip on the strap that stops the little band from sliding off which is a nice touch. Another nice little feature that I like to see is that the buckle on the strap is metal instead of a cheap plastic. Also let me just say in the whole entire time that I've had this watch there have been several occasions where it's gotten pretty banged up and you can't call it a G Shock but you can't say it's not one tough summabitch!
All in all great watch and DEAD SEXY to boot! You're really getting a huge bang for your buck. Goes with just about anything and honestly I've been wearing it all the time since I got it over half a year ago. Put over 350 miles running on it the summer I got it and made some good memories :D Love mine and I'm sure it won't disappoint you :)
