Timex Men's T28612 Classic Watch Review

Timex Men's T28612 Classic Watch

I've used Casios for many years and after the last one died after only two years, I started searching for a nice looking watch for a reasonable price. After eliminating countless models from Casio through Heuer, I rediscovered Timex, a brand I hadn't bought in 20 years.
I was concerned about the watch's face and band being too blue, but the color is quite dark. The light blue accents on the band look good. So far the case and glass face are quite durable. I paid something like $38--I would have trouble getting a metal cased Casio for this money.
I wonder about the battery life since I can hear the sweep second hand move from 8 inches away--must take a lot of battery power to generate that sound, which I believe is by design.

Add a dash of contemporary styling to a classic timepiece with the Timex T28612 stainless steel men's watch. The round silver watch case features a raised bezel with engraved 5-minute marks and machine-cut accents at the quarter hours. It frames a textured blue dial background with full Arabic numeral markings with luminous hands (with seconds hand) and date function at 3 o'clock. With the Quick Date function, you can set the date on the watch without turning the crown for every 24-hour period. Just pull the stem halfway out, and turn until desired date is reached. It also features water resistance to 50 meters (165 feet), 10-year battery life, and a black genuine leather strap with blue accented edges and stitching.
The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer.

Timex Men's T41091 Expedition Classic Digital Chrono Alarm TimerWatch Review

Timex Men's T41091 Expedition Classic Digital Chrono Alarm TimerWatch
Average Reviews:

I bought this watch to have a low cost, yet good looking watch to wear outdoors or just as a casual watch. I own several watches that I don't want to get dirty, wet, or scratched.
I have stayed away from Timex for a while after a bad experience several years back. However, I am very happy with this watch. Comfortable band - that fits small to large wrists (some of the lower costs watches sometimes cut the band length). This Expedition has good color, but doesn't stand out like a sore thumb.
The night light button, is very easy to use and is a nice feature if you want a clear time reading in the dark. The indigo button is easy to find and push in the dark.
I have worn this watch a lot since I purchases it - and I am very happy with my choice. If your looking for a nice casual low cost watch, I would recommend this Timex.

Timex Men's T49778 Shock Resistant Analog Leather Strap Expedition Watch Review

Timex Men's T49778 Shock Resistant Analog Leather Strap Expedition Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I like watches. When I got my TAG, I told myself, "this is it, I never need to buy another watch." Well, I have added 3 more watches since then. I have 1 each of TAG, Swiss Army, Gucci, Tudor, Nike, and Swatch, but I have 4 Timex's.
This Timex, #T49778 is my only leather-strap watch. All my others are metal links or rubber. I targeted this watch specifically for that reason and because I liked the all black design as well as the simple face. I always require a date function as well as 3 hands on my analog watches, which this Timex has.
The time has remained accurate from the time I set it, the strap is comfortable, the date is easy to set and the Indiglo allows for easy night time viewing. I only wish the crown didn't jab into my wrist as much, but a lot of my watches do the same thing. The hour and minute hands have luminescent paint for viewing in the dark after having been charged. It discharges rather quickly so the Indiglo is a must. The crystal is slightly recessed to assist in preventing damage. It is a very attractive watch with a simple design.
Something about Timex watches really allow me to enjoy them. I think it is mainly due to the terrific value. How much better can my TAG tell time than this Timex? How good my TAG looks compared to this Timex is completely subjective. In fact, none of my Timex watches have ever needed service, but my TAG has and it also costs me $50 to replace the battery, which I've had to do every 12-14 months. Hmm, that's like getting a new Timex every 12-14 months. I guess I love my Timex. I really liked the Ironman series watches for a long time, but my last 2 Timex's have been the Expedition series. I'm really diggin' it.

The features in this watch are exactly what is required if you travel globally like me. The 3 time zones which can be set in this watch is a nice feature. The backlight is adequate and the alarm is loud enough to wake you up. The only reason i didnt give this watch a 5 is beacuse of the strap. Though a nylon strap feels good, its not my preferred choice.
But you can always replace the strap to any material you want afterwards, which i intend to do. Timex watches are always known for their long battery life and this watch doesnt dissapoint. I recommend this watch to anyone who likes adventure gear.

Timex Men's T47902 Expedition Easy Set Alarm Brown Leather Strap Watch Review

Timex Men's T47902 Expedition Easy Set Alarm Brown Leather Strap Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have a Rolex Perpetual Datejust and a couple of Seikos. I have been wearing one of these Timex watches for two years. Why? The EasySet or Turn and Pull Alarm is the most useful feature I have ever had on my wrist. As far as I can tell it is unique. Here is how it works. There are two rotating bezels INSIDE the dial; one with a red pointer (for the hour) and one with a black pointer (for the minutes). Your third bezel is the big rotating OUTER bezel that does all the work.
Let's pretend you just called someone and got a busy signal. You don't want to forget to call back, so you reach down, grab the outer bezel, as you spin the outer bezel the inner bezels/dials begin to spin. In an instant you move the minute (black) pointer to ten minutes ahead of the current time. You let go of the outer bezel and pull the second crown (the one at four o'clock) all the way out (two clicks). You are done! In the time it took you to read the first six letter of this paragraph you are DONE. No other watch has an alarm this simple to use. I use it all day long as a reminder for those things that normally "slip" my mind.
I also use it for appointments constantly. All of us have the experience of having an appointment or call scheduled for 3:00 PM (for example) all day you are reminding yourself. You look at your watch about every twenty minutes and then you look down and you are five minutes LATE. You lost track of time! Thousands of watches have alarms but you never use them because you have to go thru too many steps to set them. This is where this Timex excels over every other watch I have.
If you want to set the alarm for more than sixty minutes just twist the bezel until you have both the black and red pointers at the time you want and pull the second crown half-way (one click). Note: This is a twelve hour alarm, you can not set it for more than twelve hours. That never bothers me, I use my cell phones kludgy but efficient day planner for those things.
The alarm is an adequately loud, louder than any of my Seikos. The Indiglo light flashes in time with the alarm and is bright enough that it makes it a cinch to find your watch on a nightstand in the dark!
My original watch has been banged, dropped, immersed, worn out two bands and still works perfectly. There is a black painted stripe inside the outer bezel that flaked after about a year to reveal a brass ring. Once the paint came off the brass ring actually looks better than the painted ring. The Indiglo dial is a Timex feature that rocks. It is super bright, but the color of blue doesn't seem to hurt my night vision. The illumination is probably too bright for life or death surveillance work, but unless terrorist snipers are hunting you in the dark you will be fine.
If you give speeches, teach or preach, this is a perfect time piece. Set it as you go to the lectern, when it beeps you can instantly silence it. It is so easy to set you can actually set it for another five or ten minutes WHILE YOU ARE SPEAKING.
Why do I have three? My first is two years old and still on its original battery. I loved it so much that I wanted a backup. That first model I have is no longer available so I tracked down this T47902 and bought two out of fear they might be discontinued. I may buy one or two more!
I am a gadget person and I have had watches that looked more complicated than a short course if Differential Equations, but this is USEFUL and USABLE. If it fits your needs you will be buying a spare just like I did.
Jeff

Timex Men's T77862 Expedition Digital Compass Watch Review

Timex Men's T77862 Expedition Digital Compass Watch

I have had this watch for over 3 years and all functions work fine.I did change the battery once a year ago, which is not easy to do without the right tiny tools. There is a spring clip which holds the battery in and must be released to remove the battery. Also, I have had trouble finding the CR1620 battery at local stores, but you can get it online. Last summer the watch suddenly reset itself to 1/1/00 several times for no apparent reason, but this has not happened again. I suspect the humidity got to it a bit. The compass is accurate and not hard to calibrate. If you like this watch, I suggest comparing it to the LaCrosse XG20 compass watch which is more stylish and perhaps more functional at about the same price.

This wristwatch may have a narrow armband but I find it to be comfortable, sturdy and strong; I do not understand what all the fuss is about! I found the controls for the settings to be easy to understand and remember. I travel a lot and the three time zones are a great feature, the compass features is great too and it is light weight, waterproof and shockproof and it has stood up to the wear and tear of traveling via plane, train, auto, foot, bicylcle, motorcycle and even hunting and skinning the kill, it makes a great camping watch too. The only thing I do not need is the lap time feature but do not register that as a complaint for it IS a feature that works great and might be of some use to someone, just not I. You will not regret this purchase!

I've been a fan of sports watches for more than 10 years but prefer fabric watch bands/straps, as opposed to rubber straps/bands. This is the best watch of its kind by far. It's not my first Timex but they have improved the features. The best new (at least to me) feature is the Indiglo button being in addition to the usual 4 buttons to change mode, set, etc. As with prior Timex watches of this type, it has 2 time settings--great for travelers or just daylight savings time changes. I especially like that it has 3 separate alarm settings and each can be set for daily, weekdays, or weekends. With the addition of the Indiglo button, setting time and alarms is simplifed and quick because there's plus/minus buttons, as opposed to having to roll around to get an earlier hour/time. This is a great watch and a good value for the price. I am still waiting for my free baseball cap which was supposed to be part of the deal.
